Scottish tennis star Andy Murray beats Guillermo Garcia-Lopez

andy murrayScottish tennis star Andy Murray has made it through to the quarter-finals of the Aegon Championships at Queen's Club by beating Spain's Guillermo Garcia-Lopez with a 6-4 6-4 score.

Murray, who is riding high as British number one and number three in the world tennis rankings, defeated his Spanish opponent in just over an hour.

The match between the Scotsman and the Spaniard was the first time that Murray and Garcia-Lopez had ever played against each other and the Spanish star managed to give the top British star a few problems in the first set.

26-year-old Garcia-Lopez was able to win the opening game but after that he was unable to match Murray, who went on to claim victory in the second game.

Murray goes forward to play against American tennis star Mardy Fish, who has defeated Feliciano Lopez with a 6-1 6-4 victory.
