Scottish star Andy Murray beats Spaniard Feliciano Lopez
Scottish tennis star Andy Murray got through to the second round of the Monte Carlo Masters by defeating Feliciano Lopez 7-6 (7-5) 6-4.
Andy Murray has been working with former French Open finalist Alex Corretja on the clay court, a surface on which in the past he hadn't played well.
But Corretja gave Murray some good advice, which he must have listened to when he was advised to be more patient with his game.
Andy Murray didn't get flustered in the contest but stayed relaxed and focused to take the advantage in spite of problems in the first set.
Murray carried on doing well, breaking in the first game of the second set and it looked as if victory wasn't far away when a second break took him 5-2 ahead.
However, Andy Murray lost his own serve, which allowed Feliciano Lopez to take control and bring it to a 5-4, score.
The Scot remembered to stay calm and to concentrate his efforts and he very soon won the game. Murray said afterwards: "The first thing you need to work on is the patience, and I did that today,"
