Russian tennis star Nikolay Davydenko beats Spaniard Rafael Nadal
Russian tennis star Nikolay Davydenko battled his way back against his Spanish opponent to defeat Rafael Nadal with a 0-6 7-6 (10-8) 6-4 victory at the Qatar Open finals that were held in Doha.
Davydenko had already beaten Switzerland's Roger Federer in the semi-finals of the event but he had problems briefly when Nadal claimed the first set. However, the second went to a tie-break.
Nadal had missed out on two match points and Davydenko eventually managed to come on back from being 3-1 down to be the winner of their decider. Winning the match took him an epic two hours and 43 minutes but the Russian got there in the end.
Davydenko had also been the winner of the season-ending ATP World Tour finals in November and is having a most impressive run of success in his career in tennis at present.
