Russian tennis star Nikolay Davydenko beats Dan Evans

nikolay davydenkoRussian tennis star Nikolay Davydenko has beaten the UK's Dan Evans at Wimbledon on Court Four.

Davydenko beat the British number five with a 6-2 6-3 6-3 score, which was a very disappointing result for 19-year-old Evans, who was making his debut appearance at the tournament.

12th seeded Davydenko won the game against Evans in one hour and 49 minutes of play.

Evans, who comes from Birmingham, nevertheless had some good moments and at one stage battled back from being 3-0 to 3-2 down.

The first set only took 32 minutes of play but in the second set Evans was actually leading 2-0; however, he was unable to keep up his level of play against his far more experienced Russian opponent.

And it looked as if Davydenko's past experience gave him the advantage because he knew how to overcome the British teenager.
