Russian tennis star Maria Sharapova thrashes Justine Henin
Russian tennis star Maria Sharapova played at her best when she thrashed Belgian ace player Justine Henin 6-4 6-0 in the Australian Open quarter-finals.
World number one Justine Henin was clearly not playing as well as she is capable of and it cost her the game.
20-year-old Maria Sharapova's highly impressive display has ended Justine Henin's 32-match winning run, and it marks the fourth year running that Maria Sharapova has reached thisstage of the contest.
In the past though, Maria Sharapova had lost six of their eight previous meetings, including their last two matches, but this time she took her revenge on Justine Henin.
Commenting on how she felt about her winning performance Maria Sharapova said: "It's amazing when you go out on the court and feel you're doing the right things to beat such an amazing player as her. It's just incredible."
