Russia lead over Argentina at Davis Cup
Russia's tennis stars won Saturday's doubles rubber to go into a 2-1 lead over Argentina in the Davis Cup final in Moscow.
Marat Safin, who was replacement for the injured Mikhail Youzhny, paired up with Dmitry Tursunov to defeat David Nalbandian and Agustin Calleri 6-2 6-3 6-3.
David Nalbandian was not at his best at all and Russia claimed an easy win.
Sunday's decisive singles matches will seeMarat Safin face Juan Ignacio Chela, and Nikolay Davydenko plays against David Nalbandian.
Serving and returning well, Dmitry Tursunov and Marat Safin were in top form on Saturday and won their games in one hour 38 minutes.
"We didn't want to stay out there too long and let hem get in the match," said Dmitry Tursunov, who had eight of Russia's 11 aces and he added:
"Marat and I agreed that we would simply play our game and let them make mistakes, and that's what they did throughout the match."
