Roger Federer beats Jonas Bjorkman at Australian Open
Tennis star Roger Federer advanced to the third round of the Australian Open at the Rod Laver Arena with a 6-2, 6-3, 6-2 win against Jonas Bjorkman.
With better temperatures than on the previous day, Roger Federer took advantage with a speedy 6-2 6-3 6-2 victory.
It was Roger Federer's second lopsided triumph over Jonas Bjorkman in the last three Grand Slam tournaments. Roger Federer had defeated Jonas Bjorkman in straight sets in the Wimbledon semi-finals last year as a warm-up to beating Rafael Nadal in the final.
Commenting on his victory, Roger Federer said: "I think I was pretty much in control - I knew if I kept my serve going it would be tough for Jonas."
And Roger Federer added: "Jonas is a great guy, he always puts up a good fight.
"Today it went my way, I'm playing pretty well right now."
Roger Federer will now face 25th seed Mikhail Youzhny of Russia in the last 32.
