Indian tennis star Sania Mirza thinks of retiring
Indian tennis star Sania Mirza has said that she has thought of retiring after it was said about her that she had been disrespectful to the national flag.
This came about because on New Year's Day, Sania Mirza was photographed sitting with her feet resting on a table by the flag of her country.
Sania Mirza, 21, explained that the pose was accidental but she nevertheless faces possible prosecution under the Prevention of Insult to the National Honour Act.
Sania Mirza is no stranger to trouble in the eyes of the press and she has been condemned in the past for her dress sense among other things.
Making reference to her idea of retiring from tennis, Samia Mirza is reported to have said: "I think a lot of thoughts went through my head in the last couple of weeks. One of the thoughts was that, but I wouldn't say it was serious enough that I am going to quit right now."
