Hawk-Eye technology for Australian Open tennis
Tennis players will be able to challenge line calls via a video replay system at January's Australian Open and the organisers have confirmed that the Hawk-Eye technology will be used on Rod Laver Arena, after its success at this year's US Open.
But they have yet to make a decision whether to limit the amount of challenges a tennis player can make.
In the meantime, the prize money on offer has been set at a tournament record £680,000 for the singles winners and the total prize money has increased by five per cent on this year's event.
Tournament director Craig Tiley said he was excited about the introduction of Hawk-Eye.
"It will be a fantastic innovation for the fans. We will have two giant screens at Rod Laver Arena and it will be a great way of involving spectators," Craig Tiley said.
The Australian Open is being held at Melbourne Park from 15 to 28 January.
