German tennis star Tommy Haas beats Igor Andreev
German tennis star Tommy Haas has qualified for the quarter-finals at Wimbledon for the first time by defeating Igor Andreev from Russia.
Hamburg-born Haas, who was once the number two in the world tennis rankings back in 2002, kept his focus on winning the game in a first-set tie break.
Then in the next two sets, 31-year-old Haas claimed victory against his Russian opponent with a 7-6 (10-8) 6-4 6-4 score.
Haas was actually the oldest player left in the men's draw at the age of 31 but he didn't let his age stop him claiming yet another victory.
Haas had previously played a five-set match at Wimbledon against Marin Cilic, and was eventually the winner with a 7-5, 7-5, 1-6, 6-7(3), 10-8 result.
Haas now goes forward to play against either Serbian star Novak Djokovic or Israel's Dudi Sela.
