Croatia face Germany in the World Team Cup
The Croatian tennis side will take on defending champions Germany in Saturday's World Team Cup final after they were victorious over Chile 3-0 in the semi-final in Dusseldorf.
The match had to be moved indoors due to rain, but wins for Ivan Ljubicic and Mario Ancic clinched Croatia's qualification to play in the World Team Cup.
Ivan Ljubinic beat Fernando Gonzalez 7-5 6-7 6-4, and Mario Ancic enjoyed a 6-3 6-2 win over Nicolas Massu.
Mario Ancic and Ivo Karlovic then formed a team to beat Paul Capdeville and Adrian Garcia 7-5 4-6 17-15 in the doubles.
Germany have an excellent chance in the competition, having won it on four occasions, but Croatia haven't reached the final since their only appearance in 1985.
Ivan Ljubicic has been hampered by injury all week, but managed to beat Fernando Gonzalez, but Mario Ancic found it easier against Nicolas Massu.
"I was doing everything well. I didn't give him chances to play his game. It was unbelievable play from me," said Mario Ancic.
"I think we have a great team. I said at the beginning of the tournament I thought that we can go all the way, so hopefully we can go one step further."
