British tennis star Andy Murray seeded 8th at Wimbledon
British tennis star Andy Murray has been seeded eighth at Wimbledon and the rest of the seeds have been announced for the tournament, which begins on Monday. American tennis star James Blake is seeded ninth.
Andy Murray, 20, has been a doubtful contestant having had problems due to a wrist injury although he is planning his comeback and hoping to be fit enough. Andy Murray is due to play at the Boodles Challenge exhibition tournament.
Swiss star Roger Federer is the top men's seed for Wimbledon, and world number one Justine Henin is top of the women's singles.
The men's seedings are worked out from the current world rankings, but are also slightly adjusted to consider players' grass-court performances over the last two years.
French Open champion Rafael Nadal is seeded second, and Andy Roddick is third, whilst Russian Nikolay Davydenko is seeded sixth.
On the women's side Venus Williams progresses from 31st in the world to number 24 seed.
