British tennis star Alex Bogdanovic beats Amer Delic
British tennis player Alex Bogdanovic has got through to the final qualifying round of the first Masters Series tournament with a 6-3 6-4 victory against American Amer Delic.
Belgrade-born Alex Bogdanovic, who moved to Britain when he was 7 and is now the British number three player defeated Amer Delic in just over an hour's play at the Pacific Life Open in Indian Wells.
Alex Bogdanovic, reflecting on his win, said: "I thought I played pretty solidly all round."
Alex Bogdanovic went on to add: "I had a few chances to go a double break up in the second set and I didn't take them - then he had chances to break back.
"But I kept my composure to get a good win."
Alex Bogdanovic, 22, now goes on to face Czech player Lukas Dlouhy on Thursday and aims to become the third British player in the main draw.
