Australian tennis star Mark Philipoussis may retire
Australian tennis star Mark Philipoussis thinks he may have to retire from sport after suffering another injury.
Mark Philipoussis, 31, injured his right knee whilst taking part in the Australian Open wildcard play-off tournament.
Mark Philipoussis will be having surgery for the fourth time and he admitted: "I'm not thinking about a comeback at the moment.
"I want to have that surgery and then I just don't want to be getting up sore and going to the gym and battling day after day."
Mark Philipoussis went on to explain: "I'm just going to be thinking about spending time with my family, spending time at home and then assessing things - you know, where life will lead me and what direction I want to take in life and whether I'll be going again."
Mark Philipoussis had helped Australia win the Cup in 1999 and 2003, although the latter year was also when he lost to Roger Federer in the Wimbledon final.
