Andy Murray to explain his tennis corruption comments
Scottish tennis star Andy Murray is meeting with officials of the sport in Madrid on Tuesday to explain comments he was reported to have made last week regarding corruption in tennis.
Andy Murray is in Spain because he is playing in the Madrid Masters this week and will have Radek Stepanek as his opponent.
Andy Murray has denied he said that "fixing" of matches was going on and he is reported to have explained: "I never said once that players fix matches and that players were directly betting on matches,"
"I did say that there was a lot of betting in tennis."
Andy Murray said he will meet with officials from the ATP, the ruling body of men's tennis, to discuss his comments on Tuesday, but he added: "I don't think it's as big as an issue as it's been made out."
