Andy Murray hopes to enter Great Britain Davis Cup despite injury
British number one Andy Murray is hoping he will be fit enough for
Great Britain's Davis Cup tie against Serbia & Montenegro on 7-9
April although he has an ankle injury.
18-year-old Andy Murray suffered a sprained ankle in Wednesday's three-set defeat to Stanislas Wawrinka in Miami.
"I think tomorrow morning when I wake up it will be a little bit sore,"
said Andy Murray. "It would have been bad if I wasn't wearing my ankle
brace.
"I just have to see if I'm going to be OK to play in the Davis Cup."
Andy Murray, as British number one, would be a definite player for the
tie at Glasgow's Braehead Arena and the squad is expected also to
include Greg Rusedski and Arvind Parmar, and Andy's brother Jamie as a
possible for the doubles.
In spite of the injury, Andy Murray is keen to play and recognises the
tie, on an indoor carpeted surface, as one the British team ought to
win.
