Andy Murray beaten by Andreas Seppi at Nottingham Open

andymurray Andy Murray left the Nottingham Open in the quarter-finals after a 6-7 (4-7) 6-4 1-6 loss to Andreas Seppi.

Andy Murray, 19, had looked as if he had seized the momentum when he levelled the game at one set all in windy conditions and he was the better player at the start of the deciding set, however, he failed to take advantage and his frustration led to his downfall.

Andreas Seppi broke serve at 2-1 and won the next three games to reach his first grass-court semi-final.

Andy Murray was the highest-ranked player left in the draw and previous rival Max Mirnyi had tipped him as favourite to win the title.

But Andreas Seppi, who had won only one match on grass before this year, proved to be a very good player and a difficult opponent, and Seppi managed to keep his composure throughout in non-ideal playing conditions, while Andy Murray had to struggled to maintain his.

"They are probably the windiest conditions I've ever played a match in," Andy Murray said later.
