Andre Agassi beats George Bastl at Countrywide Classic in Los Angeles
Tennis star Andre Agassi lost the opening set against Swiss player George Bastl and then beat him in the Countrywide Classic third round in Los Angeles.
Andre Agassi, who will be retiring after the US Open, won 6-7 (4-7) 6-2 6-1.
Paul Goldstein, who had beaten Lleyton Hewitt in the first round, also made progress, by defeating Russian player Igor Kunitsyn 6-4 6-4.
Third seed Fernando Gonzalez from Chile beat Marat Safin 6-4 6-2 and in the first round, top seed Andy Roddick was victorious over South Africa's Rik De Voest 6-4 6-4.
The former world number one created nine aces on his way to winning and Andy Roddick said:
"I'm feeling a lot better with the way I'm hitting the ball and with my level of intensity and focus on the court.
"But I don't think I'm halfway there yet. There's still a long way to go."
Andre Agassi was happy about his performance as well and he said: "As the match went on, I picked up my level and I'm feeling good about the way I'm moving."
