American tennis star Lindsay Davenport beats Ana Ivanovic

lindsay American tennis star Lindsay Davenport has defeated second seeded Serb player Ana Ivanovic 6-4 6-2 and now goes through to the fourth round of the Sony Ericsson Open.

Former world number one Lindsay Davenport didn't give Ana Ivanovic the chance to claim more titles after her success at Indian Wells.

Ana Ivanovic was clearly unable to keep up with the game played by Lindsay Davenport, who is now world number 33.

Ana Ivanovic is the second top 10 player Lindsay Davenport has defeated since making her comeback to the tour last September after she had been away from sport to give birth to her first child last June.

Lindsay Davenport won 13 of 14 points at the net and led 6-4 3-0 when it looked, if only briefly that Ana Ivanovic might battle her way back when she broke serve in the fourth game but it was not to be and Lindsay Davenport was the winner.
