American tennis star Andy Roddick aggravates injury
American tennis star Andy Roddick has had to pull out of the US Men's Clay Court Championships because he has aggravated a hamstring injury in the Davis Cup.
The hamstring injury had already forced top seed Andy Roddick out of the Miami Masters and he "tweaked it" against Fernando Verdasco whom he defeated. But now Andy Roddick knows that he needs to take a break to let his injury heal properly.
"The unfortunate thing with a hamstring injury is that it is one of the most susceptible to re-injure," Andy Roddick explained.
"At this point, instead of changing surfaces - you know how natural my movement is on clay in the first place - it would probably be best to make sure I get healthy," Andy Roddick added.
World number three Andy Roddick has been in five of the last six finals at the US Men's Clay Court Championships and been victorious three times.
