American tennis player James Blake loses to Juan Carlos Ferrero at Cincinnati Masters
American tennis star and sixth seed James Blake was out of the Cincinnati Masters when he lost 6-2 6-4 to Spanish player Juan Carlos Ferrero.
James Blake, the highest-ranked American player, went down in 64 minutes without even managing to gain a break point against his rival, a former world number one.
Then third seed David Nalbandian followed James Blake out of courtesy of a 6-4 6-2 defeat given by Stanislas Wawrinka, however, second seeded Rafael Nadal kept his cool and claimed an impressive 6-4 6-3 win over Hyung-Taik Lee.
Rafael Nadal then gave a warning to the tennis world and said: "My goal is to improve on every surface, to lift my game."
World number two Rafael Nadal wants to make an impact during the hardcourt season in the wake of his third-round defeat in Toronto last week and although he has won five titles this year, he has failed to claim a trophy since he won the French Open in June.
