Alex Corretja to coach tennis star Andy Murray
Former world number two tennis player Alex Corretja is going to be Andy Murray's coach during the clay-court season.
Spaniard Alex Corretja, 33, will work with Scot Andy Murray, 20, at events in Valencia, Monte Carlo, Rome, Hamburg and the French Open it has been reported.
As part of Andy Murray's crew Alex Corretja will work with Miles Maclagan and physical trainer Matt Little for nine weeks.
Andy Murray is pleased to have Alex Corretja helping him and said: "It is great for me to be able to work with a clay-court specialist like Alex. He had a fantastic career and I am looking forward to learning from his experiences."
And Alex Corretja is likewise delighted with his new job and said: "I have watched Andy play several times over the last couple of years and in particular his close match against Nadal in Madrid in October. I saw that he has tremendous potential to play well on all surfaces and I am flattered to have been asked to be part of his team during the clay-court season."
