Tennis star Roger Federer struggled to beat Juan Monaco
Swiss tennis star Roger Federer had a struggle to beat Argentinean Juan Monaco 6-3 2-6 6-4 at the Hamburg Masters in his first performance after splitting with coach Tony Roche.
This means that Roger Federer has played four straight tournaments without a title and was defeated in Rome.
Roger Federer admitted: "I haven't played that great in recent weeks," and he added: "I just need to get back into match grove, pick up as many wins as I can before the French Open."
Roger Federer will next face Marat Safin or Juan Carlos Ferrero in round three.
Roger Federer needs to win the French Open to complete a career Grand Slam.
Roger Federer took one hour 56 minutes to beat Juan Monaco and will need better his performance fast if he is to challenge Rafael Nadal for the French Open, beginning on 27 May.
