Michael Scott from Australia to be in charge of GB swimmers
Michael Scott from Australia has been chosen as national performance director for Great Britain's swimmers.
Michael Scott, 51, had already joined as high performance consultant in October 2007 after Bill Sweetenham had left but now he steps up a rank and will be in charge of the ream for the Beijing Olympics.
Michael Scott, who was recently chief executive of the 2007 world championships in Melbourne, said proudly: "This is a very exciting challenge for me."
A former director of the Australian Institute of Sport, Michael Scott will be working with the swimming team to lead them up to London 2012, and British Swimming chief executive David Sparkes said: "We're delighted Michael can stay through to the Olympic Games.
"We're all very excited about Michael's blueprint for the future, as it will see a significant change in gear, and this will be unveiled to the British Swimming board in a few weeks."
