Mark Schubert says all world swimming records will be broken
Mark Schubert the head coach of the US swimming team says he thinks all swimming world records will be broken at the Beijing Olympic Games.
Mark Schubert will be coaching at his eighth Olympic Games this year, and he thinks the combination of athletic talent and technology will lead to new records being set and he said: "I wouldn't be surprised to see nearly every world record broken."
Twenty-three new world records have already been broken since mid-February, mainly by swimmers sporting the new LZR Racer swimsuit made by Speedo.
Jessica Hardy, who is coached by Mark Schubert, was the latest to set a world record because on Thursday she lowered the 50m breaststroke mark to 29.58 seconds at the World Short Course Championships at the MEN Arena in Manchester.
Italian coach Alberto Castagnetti thinks the LZR is really a way of cheating with technology, but Mark Schubert says there's a lot more to it than that.
