Great Britain swimmers aim to make their mark in Helsinki Great Britain's elite swimming squad are hoping to make their mark in Helsinki this week as they carry on getting ready for next March's World Championships.
The team of 30 swimmers will be going for gold at the European Short Course Championships from Thursday, and coach Ian Turner is considering the squad's form and said: "They take on an added significance this year because of the close proximity to the worlds.
"What I want to see from the British team are good, solid performances."
Commonwealth swimming champions David Davies and Chris Cook both make comebacks to international competition after recovering from injury.
And younger swimmers Fran Halsall, Jessica Dickons, Elizabeth Simmonds, Rebecca Adlington and Kris Gilchrist will all be aiming to continue their steady progress.
Great Britain's team will compete in Finland half-way through their training programme for Melbourne in March but Ian Turner says it is a situation they are ready for and have experience before.
