Cardiff swimmer David Davies returns to action
City of Cardiff swimmer David Davies will be returning to action for the first time in eight months and he hopes to make the British team for the World Championships in Melbourne next year.
David Davies, 21, will be at the Dutch Championships in Eindhoven on 1 December where he aims to make the 1500m freestyle qualifying time of 15:12.14.
"We have a back-up plan as well but I'm aiming to qualify in Holland," David Davies said.
"If it doesn't go well I'll return to the UK before competing at a Welsh ASA meet in Swansea on the 16th and 17th of December," David Davies added.
David Davies will make use of a solid four-month period of training he has been able to enjoy without any distraction, since he returned to the pool in July and he said: "I'm back to normal now. It took me a while to get into the water but since July I've been training hard to try to reach the same fitness levels I had before."
