British swimmer Liam Tancock wins gold
British swimming star Liam Tancock won 200m individual medley gold as well as breaking his own UK record on the last day of the Japan International Open.
Liam Tancock claimed his second gold medal of the event when he clocked in with a time of one minute 59.19 seconds, and it was only the second time that Liam Tancock had managed a time of under two minutes.
Liam Tancock said happily: "I had a good swim this morning and made a few changes for this evening which paid off."
Liam Tancock added: "I'm really pleased with that performance."
Liam Tancock was also celebrating his joint European record swim in the 100m Backstroke this week and his performance in China earned him the Most Valuable Performance award.
"It's brilliant to win the performance award," Liam Tancock said, and he added: "I've swum some fast times against an impressive standard of competition and this award has recognised that."
