British swimmer Jo Jackson wins bronze British swimmers Jo Jackson (400m freestyle), Darren Mew (50m freestyle) and the women's 4x50m medley relay team won three more bronze medals at the European short-course championships held in Helsinki.
Jo Jackson was third behind French swimming star Laure Manaudou who improved her own world record, which she had set in Trieste last December.
Laure Manaudou clocked three minutes 56.09 seconds with Jo Jackson managing 4:01.48.
Darren Mew swam strongly but finished behind world record holder Ukrainian swimmer Oleg Lisogor, who set a new championship best of 26.50, and Italian rival Alessandro Terrin.
The relay team of Lizzie Simmonds, Kate Haywood, Ros Brett and Francesca Halsall were just beaten to the silver by .12 of a second by Sweden in the final race of the day.
Germany gained gold in 1:47.55 with Sweden clocking 1:48.14 and the British quartet claiming 1:48.26.
