Snooker star Ronnie O'Sullivan says running helps him win
Snooker star Ronnie O'Sullivan has said that he has recently taken up running and that his new sporting activity has helped him get back to the world number one spot in snooker.
Ronnie O'Sullivan, 32, is taking part in the Welsh Open this week, and he will be playing against either Joe Swail or Judd Trump on Wednesday.
Ronnie O'Sullivan claimed his fourth UK Championship win in December last year, but was then beaten in the first round of the Masters in January by Stephen Maguire.
Ronnie O'Sullivan has suffered from depression for many years and he says it is an illness that has sometimes stopped him achieving his best.
The good news is that Ronnie O'Sullivan says he is "a lot happier now" and a lot of it is down to his new passion for running.
Ronnie O'Sullivan went on to explain: "Snooker has been my life and I have placed such big expectations on myself that I used to get very down and depressed. Unless I am world number one or world champion, that is a kind of failure for me.
"But I realise there is much more to life - and although I have enjoyed playing snooker and it has been good to me, exercise is more important to me than snooker."
