Snooker star Ronnie O'Sullivan out of Shanghai Masters
Snooker star Ronnie O'Sullivan has been forced to withdraw from next week's Shanghai Masters due to an injured back, and he has issued an apology to his supporters.
Doctors have advised Ronnie O'Sullivan, 31, not to take part in it, and a statement on his site says: "He's been told not to travel and that bending over a table will cause more damage."
Twice world champion Ronnie O'Sullivan had been lined up to face Preston's Stuart Pettman or local player Cao Kaisheng at the Grand Stage next Wednesday, and it would have been Ronnie O'Sullivan's first match in a ranking competition since he was fined £21,000 for walking out of the best-of-17-frames UK Championship quarter-final last December.
The statement on Ronnie O'Sullivan's site added: "The injury is not serious, but he must rest. He apologises to all those who were looking forward to seeing him."
