Snooker star John Higgins back on top after beating Mark Selby
Snooker star John Higgins defeated Mark Selby and has become world number one but he thinks he should have won the top spot again sooner than this.
John Higgins first won the world title in 1998 and he has now knocked fellow Scot Stephen Hendry from the top place.
John Higgins said: "I won it nine years ago and was blasé about it,"
"I thought I would have won another two or three by now.
"It's taken longer than expected. I've won a lot of events but a lot of people only watch the World Championship."
After his big victory in 1998, John Higgins had been expected to stay on top of the game and the ratings but, although he held his position for two years, after that his performance and results began to suffer and didn't win any major tournament between 2001 and 2004 at all.
