Snooker player Joe Swail beats Mark Williams at The Crucible
Northern Ireland snooker player Joe Swail kept his focus and control to manage to defeat former champion Mark Williams 10-9 in their first-round match at The Crucible.
The defeat was the latest loss in a very poor season for Welshman Mark Williams, who could now be under pressure for his top 16 place.
Mark Williams showed how frustrated he was on several occasions by leaning on the snooker table with his head in his hands, and he said: "I just didn't play at all - he was the better player all day and deserved to win,
"I just wasn't there, I didn't perform. I played like a fish!
"I'm disappointed with the way I've performed over the whole season more than anything. It's probably the worst season I've ever had."
Joe Swail, who will now go on to face Matthew Stevens in the second round, said: "That's probably one of the best wins I've ever had."
