Scottish snooker player Graeme Dott plays in spite of depression
Scottish snooker player Graeme Dott has decided he is going to play at the World Championship starting on Saturday even though he has been suffering from depression.
Although 30-year-old Graeme Dott was the champion in 2006 he has since then lost 15 matches and he had considered withdrawing from the World Championships.
Graeme Dott explained: "I had already decided last week to pull out and told my family I would not be going to Sheffield. But I have changed my mind because I thought it would just be too hard for me not to play."
Graeme Dott faces English player Joe Perry (ranked 14th) in the first round on Tuesday, 22 April.
Graeme Dott is getting treatment for his illness and he said: "I'm certainly a lot better than I was - there has been a massive change, although I am still a long way off from being OK and my form is a long way off from being good."
