Malaysian Nicole David tipped to keep Women's World squash crown

nicole david Malaysian squash champion Nicole David is strongly tipped to hold on to her Women's World Open squash title this week in Belfast.

Nicole David, 23, became world champion last November but has suffered a disappointing period, which saw her fail to win a Commonwealth Games medal.

"Players on the circuit are getting closer (in standard)," Nicole David said. "One slight opening gives them an extra chance to get into it.

"You have to make sure you are on top of your game. It's hard to do it.," Nicole David added.

However, Nicole David showed she was back to her best in September with an impressive performance at the British Open in Nottingham.

In defending her title, Nicole David did not drop a single game and defeated her Melbourne conqueror Natalie Grinham in the semis for the loss of just 11 points.
