Great Britain's archers win silver and bronze at World Cup

archery Great Britain's archery team have won two medals at the first qualifying event at the World Cup for the sport held in Ulsan.

The Ulsan archery event is the first of four qualifying legs, another of which is in Dover in July, and then the Grand Final is held in Dubai later on in the year.

Chris White, Neil Wakelin and Liam Grimwood of the men's compound team won silver in their event after being defeated by Iran for the gold and Alison Williamson, Naomi Folkard and Charlotte Burgess claimed the bronze in the women's recurve tournament.

The British women archers defeated France but were themselves beaten by Korea.

Nicky Hunt, who was taking part in her first World Cup event, was one of five team members to win points for individual events entered and she surprisingly beat fourth seed Camilla Soemod and finished 12th overall.

From the men's team Andy Rikuenenko claimed eight points and Liam Grimwood one point after finishing ninth and 16th respectively in the men's compound.
