Veteran golfer Ian Woosnam critical of Colin Montgomerie

Veteran golf star Ian Woosnam has disagreed with what Colin Montgomerie has done because he had made it public that Jose Maria Olazabal would be his vice-captain before the Spaniard had confirmed this.

In fact, Olazabal may choose not to be vice-captain for the 2010 European Ryder Cup team because his plan for the year included getting to take part at the Celtic Manor and qualifying for this event.

Montgomerie had claimed a fortnight back that Olazabal had agreed to take the job of vice-captain.

This has caused some confusion because Olazabal had earlier on said that he wanted to try and qualify for the 2010 team as a player. However, he may still accept Montgomerie's proposal if he decides not to pursue the alternative course of action.

Either way, Woosnam thinks that Montgomerie was too hasty in making the announcement.
