US golf star Tiger Woods wins Memorial Tournament

Tiger WoodsAmerican golf star Tiger Woods has won the Memorial Tournament by a shot, and in so doing, the world number one claimed his 67th PGA Tour victory.

33-year-old Woods just managed to beat Jim Furyk, also from the US at Muirfield Village Golf Club.

This win marked a record fourth victory for Woods in the tournament.

Woods had made his return to golf earlier this year after recovering from knee surgery in 2008 that kept him away from sport for many months. Following his comeback it has taken him some time to really regain his top levels of performance that he is capable of.

Woods was really happy to have turned in an excellent performance and to have won his second PGA Tour title this season.

Woods is back on top of his golf-playing and it showed why he is currently the number one in the sport.
