US golf star Tiger Woods plays well in Orlando

tiger woodsAmerican golf star Tiger Woods shot a 68 in the first round and in so doing he finished three shots away from the lead at the Arnold Palmer Invitational tournament in Orlando.

33-year-old Woods was taking part in what was his third golf event this year after making his comeback to the sport following a successful recovery from knee surgery.

Woods' golfing partner in Orlando, Padraig Harrington, finished on level par after as a result of carding three birdies and three bogeys.

Woods had entered the Arnold Palmer tournament having tied for ninth place at Doral in the WGC-CA Championship just a fortnight back.

Woods played well but he bogeyed the 17th. He said afterwards that he was content with how he had done.

Woods is now in a seven-way tie for 10th, and so are top golfers Daniel Chopra from Sweden and American star Rocco Mediate.
