US golf star Phil Mickelson wins in Shanghai
American golf star Phil Mickelson went forward to a second extra hole in a play-off game against English golfers Ross Fisher and Lee Westwood and then went on to win the HSBC Champions in Shanghai.
Phil Mickelson had dropped four shots in four holes on the back nine to look as if he had lost any chance, but his playing partner Ross Fisher took a seven at the last.
Then Phil Mickelson's six at the same hole was enough of a score to qualify for a play-off with Lee Westwood, all three on 10-under.
Then, although it was nearly dark, Phil Mickelson made a successful chip and putt for birdie and won the match.
Phil Mickelson explained how he felt about it all: "I don't how it happened, the whole day was a whirlwind.
"I had to fight it out because I had a big lead but then hit some horrible shots. It's a funny game, golf, because I thought I was out of it at the last when I hit the water."
