Tiger Woods pays tribute to late father Earl Woods

tigerandearlwoods Tiger Woods has said of his father Earl, who died on Wednesday aged 74 of prostate cancer, that he was the "greatest role model".

Earl Woods was driving force behind Tiger Woods' amazing career.

"My dad was my best friend and greatest role model, and I will miss him deeply. I wouldn't be where I am today without him," Tiger Woods said in tribute.

Tiger Woods has recently been spending a lot of time away from golf to be with his father, who seemed to have beaten the disease in 2004 after six years of treatment, only for it to return and claim his life.

"I'm overwhelmed when I think of all of the great things he accomplished in his life," said Tiger Woods.

"He was an amazing dad, coach, mentor, soldier, husband and friend. I'm honoured to continue his legacy of sharing and caring," Tiger Woods added.
