Tiger Woods makes light of Golf Channel's Kelly Tilghman's joke
World number one golf star Tiger Woods has forgiven a TV presenter for the Golf Channel who had joked that Tiger Woods' rivals should "lynch him in a back alley."
Golf Channel's Kelly Tilghman had made the joke to British golf star Nick Faldo earlier in January when the two were discussing any challengers in the golf world for Tiger Woods' crown.
However, Kelly Tilghman was punished with a two weeks suspension by the Golf Channel for what she had said.
Tiger Woods said about the TV announcer's behaviour: "It was unfortunate. Kelly and I did speak. There was no ill intent. She regrets saying it. In my eyes, it's all said and done."
And if that wasn't enough, Golfweek magazine put a noose on the cover of the 19 January issue, which came in for condemnation by some people, including US PGA Tour commissioner Tim Finchem.
Dave Seanor who had given the go ahead for the cover was subsequently fired by Golfweek, however, Tiger Woods wasn't upset by Kelly Tilghman's remarks and he claimed: "It was more media-driven than anything else."
