Tiger Woods for the Dubai Desert Classic
World number one Tiger Woods is optimistic about making it third time
lucky when he appears at the European Tour's Dubai Desert Classic in
February 2006.
The 29-year-old American failed to win in 2001 and 2004, while South
African Ernie Els won this year claiming his third title at the Majlis
Course.
Tiger Woods said: "The level of competition is always extremely high so I know I'll have to play my best golf to win.
"It's a great venue and the course is always in immaculate condition."
The Dubai Desert Classic, which will run from 2-5 February, will be the richest in the tournament's 17-year history.
The winner of the event will pick up around £225,000 of the £1.3m prize fund.
