Tiger Woods advised to play the Wales Open
American golf star Tiger Woods has been advised by US captain Corey Pavin to play the Wales Open before the Celtic Manor, where it is being held, puts on next year's Ryder Cup.
Pavin is going to experience the course there for himself when he takes part in the Wales Open in June.
Woods, who is a 14-time major golf tournament winner, is such a big name in the sport that if he does want to play there it will certainly get a lot of the world's attention focused on the venue and the event.
Top European golf stars such as Phil Montgomerie, Nick Faldo, Ian Woosnam, Miguel Angel Jiminez and Ian Poulter and as major tournament winners like Retief Goosen Michael Campbell have all been tempted by the Wales Open.
49-year-old Pavin is the first American though and he is hoping to get fellow US golf star Woods to join him in playing at the Celtic Manor.
