Spanish golf legend Seve Ballesteros says he had a second chance

seveSpanish golfing legend Seve Ballesteros has said he was given a "second chance" because of his recovery after surgery on his brain to remove a tumour.

52-year-old Ballesteros had been operated on four times in total following the discovery of the growth last October after he had become unconscious at Madrid Airport.

A new cancer research foundation has been opened in Madrid and it is being named after him.

Ballesteros had announced his retirement back in 2007 because he had been suffering from back problems.

Since his operations to get rid of the brain tumour Ballesteros has been treated with chemotherapy.

Ballesteros is now well on the road to recovery and he has said how thankful he is not only to his doctors but also to all the people who have supported him with their care and good wishes.
