South Korean Yang Yong-Eun beats Tiger Woods
South Korean golf star Yang Yong-Eun beat world number one Tiger Woods by two strokes and won the Champions tournament.
Tiger Woods fired a five-under par final round in Shanghai but Yang Yong-Eun, second overnight, kept him behind with a three under.
Yang Yong-Eun 's victory ended a run of six consecutive strokeplay wins for Tiger Woods, who had taken a five-week break before the tournament.
Tiger Woods, who was two shots off the lead at the halfway point after a second-round 64, claimed his wayward 73 in blustery conditions on Saturday had cost him his chance of winning.
"I wasn't quite good enough," Tiger Woods said. "Yesterday just killed me.
"I was so far back and Yang just played a great stretch of holes and just put it out of reach for all of us that were six or seven under trying to make a run at him," Tiger Woods added.
Yang Yong-Eun is now hoping that his surprise win will gain him a regular place alongside the world's best golfers and he has already signed up for an American qualifying school.
