South Korea golfer KJ Choi wins at Sony Open

choi South Korean golf star KJ Choi earned his seventh PGA Tour title when he won at the Sony Open in Hawaii by three shots on Sunday.

KJ Choi, 37, prevailed against windy conditions at Waialae Country Club and now will join Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson and Vijay Singh in an elite group.

Speaking with the aid of an interpreter, KJ Choi is reported to have said: "It was all through hard work and all I can do right now is just try my best, try to fill this empty cup that's out there.

"There are a lot of improvements that I need to make and all I can say is I'll just keep on trying my best."

KJ Choi is confident that his recent win will help him in the bigger tournaments in future and he added: "This experience in Hawaii is going to help me prepare for the major tournaments that are coming up because in those tournaments you have to be patient. You can't get too greedy."
