South African golf star Retief Goosen plays well in Scotland

retief goosenSouth African golf star Retief Goosen just failed to match his own record by one when he came up with a 63 in the second round of the Scottish Open.

Goosen is in the lead by two shots ahead of Australian golfer Adam Scott.

Arizona-based Martin Laird and English golf star Kenneth Ferrie were four shots behind the South African.

Goosen has been a winner in Asia, Africa and America over the last nine months of golfing action, but he hasn't been victorious in Europe since all the way back at the German Masters in 2005. However, now he is in Scotland he has the perfect opportunity to change things and he has said that he likes the course there so is feeling optimistic.

Scott is going to be Goosen's partner in the third round of the Scottish Open on Saturday.
