Jose Maria Olazabal and Colin Montgomerie settle differences
Spanish golf star Jose Maria Olazabal says he and Colin Montgomerie have settled their differences in time for this year's Ryder Cup at the K Club in Ireland.
Scottish golfer Colin Montgomerie had criticised Jose Maria Olazabal for pulling out of the final qualifying event in Munich last month even though he wasn't sure of his place in the team.
"There are no hard feelings at all," said Jose Maria Olazabal. "That's in the past.
"He made certain points but the media like to make a big thing out of a few words. He did not mean it to harm me," Jose Maria Olazabal added.
When Jose Maria Olazabal gave tiredness as his reason for withdrawing from the BMW International Open, Colin Montgomerie had said: "There is a long winter to be tired. I am very surprised that he isn't here."
Although Colin Montgomerie's comments had annoyed Jose Maria Olazabal he insisted the matter was now forgotten.
"I've already kissed him on both cheeks," said Jose Maria Olazabal.
