Irish golfer Padraig Harrington thinks past success may help
Irish golfer Padraig Harrington says he thinks past European victory at Oakland Hills four years ago could be an advantage to one of the Ryder Cup players at the USPGA Championship this week.
Eight of the golf stars that had defeated America in 2004 are on their way back to take part in the last major event of the current season.
Padraig Harrington, Paul Casey, Darren Clarke, Sergio Garcia, Miguel Angel Jimenez, Colin Montgomerie, Ian Poulter and Lee Westwood are the team of golfers who are returning to Oakland Hills to try their luck again.
Harrington has been drawn to play alongside Angel Cabrera and Trevor Immelman, and his first round begins at 1815 BST on Thursday.
The eight golfers have an even better chance of winning because Tiger Woods, who is world number one and defending champion, will not be taking part due to injury.
